The debut album from the Wuerzburg based band Phantom Winter (ex-Omega Massif), awaited by both fans and critics, is coming out on CD and LP on Golden Antenna. A little over a year ago, the post metal band Omega Massif broke up very unexpectedly. After the band had released their acclaimed album "Karpatia”, they were already called the new Neurosis or Isis. Therefore the breakup came about even more surprisingly. Likewise surprising was the announcement that Andreas Schmittfull (guitar) and Christof Rath (drums) founded a new band. Along with Martin Achter (bass) and Christian Krank (vocals), the quartet forms Phantom Winter. Consequently, the expectations regarding the new band were very high. Already with their Song "Corpses Collide”, which had been streamed in advance, it became clear that the band was more than able to live up to the expectations. "Cvlt” is a masterpiece of doom, sludge and (traditional, yet politically correct) black metal. The brutal and sinister passages are constantly traversed by spherical / psychedelic guitar melodies - this undoubtedly reflects the background of Omega Massif.
