Cradle Of Filth have been an undisputed giant in the heavy metal scene for thirty years. The band under the rule of Dani Filth has survived three decades of challenges and not only earned a special reputation as the creative force of Extreme Metal, but also as one of the most active live bands on the scene. When the concert activity came to a sudden standstill due to the pandemic, Cradle Of Filth were recently in the studio to record their 13th studio album under lockdown conditions - and the inevitable isolation with its oppressive atmosphere seemed the best prerequisite for the creation of "Existence is futile" , a manifesto of existentialism.
So the album is easily one of the most powerful and dramatic records in the history of Cradle Of Filth. The rapid live energy of the band also gushed in the studio and drove every member to new heights. Combined with the labyrinth-like arrangements and the gripping bombast, “Existence is futile” is the band's liveliest studio album to date.
