With 8 motion pictures, X-Men is one of the most successful comic screen adaptations. Now there's a new successor on its way: "X-Men: Apocalypse" presents an all-star cast, including James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Oscar Isaac as well as director Bryan Singer, who intends to continue the story of "X-Men: Days Of Future Past".
In the 80's, mutants are mostly accepted in society. However, when the oldest and most powerful mutant Apocalypse, who got the ability to control both humans and mutants, awakes from a thousand years of sleep, he plans to enslave humanity. It's Prof. X and his team who try to defeat him.
The score has again been created by renowned composer John Ottman who already composed the scores for two other X-Men movies and who was awarded with the Saturn Award for Best Music for one of them. Both pompous and spherical sounds provide all the thrill needed during the desperate fight of the X-Men.
